As conventional energy costs continue to rise, more and more people are heating their homes using biomass and other alternative fuels. The investment in an alternative heating system should pay off in the medium to long-term, but what if the shiny new, alternative fuel boiler should break down? Could clients be left out in the cold?

ARAG home emergency policyholders don’t have to worry. Our Home Emergency Solutions policy provides financial help if a client’s alternative fuel boiler should fail and leave the home without heating. Customers can call us in the usual way. Once we have validated their claim they can call out a local expert of their choice. The customer will need to pay their contractor in the first place but can send us a copy of the invoice to claim back the cost of repair up to the limit shown in their policy.

“We provide Home Emergency cover for a lot of High Net Worth schemes,” comments Head of Sales, Matt Warren “and for some brokers who have a lot of clients in rural areas, where these heating systems are becoming more popular, so it’s important for us to reassure them that we’re ready to help out with finance if their biomass boiler should break down, for example.”

“As always, our product development team has stayed one step ahead of market developments to ensure that ARAG Home Emergency cover remains highly competitive and provides exactly recognizes emerging customer needs.”

Inevitably, there are still some exclusions and limitations to cover, such as appliances that are under supplier warranty and the requirement to keep the boiler regularly serviced.

We recently produced a short video that explains all of the benefits that ARAG Home Emergency Solutions cover offers to clients, which you can watch here.
