ARAG continued to deliver double-digit growth in the UK, reporting total income of £244 million for the 2025 financial year. The results are the first the company has published including income from the former DAS UK business, acquired by ARAG SE in 2024.
ARAG Legal Expenses Insurance Company reported income of £216.7 million, an increase of over 50% on the £141.4 million reported for DAS, last year following the integration of the ARAG plc business.
In addition, there has been significant growth driven by the strong performance of ARAG’s before-the-event (BTE) portfolio, in particular commercial products.
ARAG LEI recorded a pre-tax loss of £4.1 million (£5.5m loss in 2024), mainly as a result of the ongoing costs of integrating the former DAS UK operations and bringing the companies together under one roof, at Trinity Quay in central Bristol.
The UK consolidated businesses which include ARAG plc and ARAG Law, made a contribution of £8.9 million (net of reinsurance) to the international ARAG Group.
ARAG now insures more than 10 million families and roughly 2 million businesses against the risk of unforeseen legal costs and recently launched the Insuring Justice social impact report at the House of Commons with the aim of further extending access to justice in the UK.
Commenting on the latest results, CEO of ARAG UK, David Haynes said:
“2025 marked another milestone for ARAG, as we continue to build on the strong foundations that we have established over the past 20 years. We now contribute more than €250 million in income to the international group, making the UK business ARAG’s most significant operation outside Germany.
We have also taken a new lead in extending access to justice through our collaboration with the Purpose Coalition. ARAG was founded on the principle that justice should be available to all, regardless of their means, and we are working hard to increase awareness of and access to legal protection.
ARAG already protects millions of families and businesses, throughout the UK, but we will always work with partners, agencies and charities to close the gaps in our justice system.
Our continued growth underscores the success of our strategy and I have been especially impressed by the way our people have worked together on the numerous projects that the significant acquisition inevitably entailed, without allowing it to disrupt the ongoing expansion of our business. I am pleased to say that we are continuing our strong performance in 2026.”
In May, the international ARAG Group reported income of €3.2 billion, exceeding the target set by the company for 2030.
