These are exciting times for ARAG. 2026 has flown out of the blocks and we’ve got some exciting projects underway that will really raise the profile of legal protection and help you, our broker partners, to deliver the best possible cover for your clients.

...and it’s all yellow

You may see a bit more of the ARAG yellow when you’re out and about this Spring. As part of our Group’s global campaign to raise the profile of legal protection and the importance of access to justice, we’re running some ‘out of home’ advertising that’s been designed to support our partners in selling ARAG cover.

So, if a small business owner asks you what this legal protection thing is all about and why they need it, you’ll know why.

The ads will be running from mid-March into June, and we have a bit more to say about it here, where you can also find out how to enter a competition we’re running around the campaign.

Higher purpose

The advertising will also support another important project that we’re very proud to be involved in.

We’re working with The Purpose Coalition - a cross-party Westminster organisation led by former Education and International Development Secretary Justine Greening - to highlight the social value of legal insurance and access to justice.

Insuring Justice will raise the profile, not just of ARAG, but the whole legal expenses sector, in Westminster and constituency offices across the country and political spectrum.

ARAG’s Head of Propositions, Marc Willet, explains more about The Purpose Coalition and the work it does to extend opportunity and promote social mobility.

Ringing the changes

We’re not the only ones with a busy Spring ahead of us. While 2025 saw the government pass a lot of legislation, implementation of new laws is typically phased in over the following months and even years.

Our legal advice teams have received plenty of calls, from small businesses and landlords in particular, looking for guidance and advice on what they need to do to stay the right side of the law. Charlotte Ellis, a legal advisor at ARAG Law has written about what to do if you are involved in a legal dispute here.

For many businesses, the legal changes coming into force this year that are looming largest, will be from the Employment Rights Act, passed in December. While some of the most significant reforms are not scheduled for implementation until 2027, key changes to Statutory Sick Pay, Paternity and Unpaid Parental Leave are among those arriving in April. Sergio Abreu provides a bit more detail.

Landlords also face significant changes this year as major renters’ reforms begin rolling out. You can read more about these changes here.

Manchester bound

So, we’ll have plenty to talk about when we get to the BIBA Conference in May. We’ve already booked our stand and hotels and will look forward to seeing you there.
