Morton Michel, the childcare insurance specialist, has selected leading legal expenses and assistance provider ARAG to supply commercial legal protection and advice to more than 40,000 childcare organisations, ranging from self-employed nannies and childminders to nurseries and after-school clubs.

The cover is tailored to suit the needs of the various different types of business, but typically includes protection from the costs of problems like employment disputes and debt recovery, as well as ARAG’s legal advice helpline and online legal document building tools. The packages also provide access to ARAG’s unique crisis communication advice service.

This is obviously a really significant win for us,” comments ARAG Broker Business Manager, Matt Warren, “and we are especially pleased to be associated with such a revered, family business that has stood out, at the forefront of its own sector, for so many years.”

“We have worked hard to create packages that really match the needs of the different sorts of business that Morton Michel has as clients, but I think all childcare professionals will be particularly reassured that the cover now provides representation throughout a regulatory investigation by Ofsted and for any subsequent hearing, if their conduct were to be called into question.

ARAG’s Crisis Communications service provides professional advice in the event that an insured business is the subject of negative media attention.

Legal cover is inevitably very important to many of our clients.” adds Sue Lee, Schemes Director at Morton Michel. “Whether it’s a large nursery looking to protect itself from potential employment disputes or a self-employed childminder looking to recover unpaid fees or concerned about the threat of a tax investigation, ARAG has built products that our clients will find both reassuring and useful.
