Partnership with purpose

ARAG is working with the Purpose Coalition to raise awareness of the growing importance of legal support in the UK. The Insuring Justice campaign will focus on the role that legal insurance plays in helping people and small businesses deal with everyday legal problems at a time when access to justice is becoming increasingly difficult.
The Purpose Coalition is a cross-party organisation, led by former Education and International Development Secretary Justine Greening, that connects MPs and peers with businesses, universities and public-service organisations to find practical ways to improve social mobility and extend access to opportunity.
Legal issues are now touching more aspects of daily life, but research from the Ministry of Justice and the Legal Services Board shows that many individuals and small businesses still have to manage these challenges without professional support. As a result, problems often escalate, financial pressures increase and demand rises on already stretched public services.
The Insuring Justice project will highlight how legal protection can change this trajectory by giving people access to expert guidance at the earliest possible stage. The campaign will also underline the wider economic and social value of legal insurance, from reducing workplace disruption to easing pressure on local authorities and the justice system.
The Purpose Coalition has built a strong reputation for driving practical change and shaping policy discussions around fairness, resilience and social impact. Through this collaboration, ARAG aims to build greater public and political understanding of the legal insurance sector and its contribution to a more secure and equitable society.
Speaking about the project, Rt Hon Justine Greening, Chair of The Purpose Coalition said:
Legal protection is a lifeline that helps people assert their rights, avoid crisis and stay securely on their feet. ARAG has shown how legal insurance can deliver real social value by widening access to early advice and easing pressure on the public services that support us all.
David Haynes, CEO of ARAG, added:
This is a truly exciting project and one that we hope will have an enduring impact on everyday justice in the UK. The Purpose Coalition serves a really important role in connecting businesses and helping them to deliver impact beyond their own markets. It’s a privilege to be working with them.
ARAG’s mission of extending access to justice as widely as possible has never been more important and this partnership is a great platform to help progress it.
The Insuring Justice campaign will run across policy engagement, case studies and sector collaboration, positioning ARAG at the forefront of a prevention first approach to everyday justice in the UK.
