ARAG UK picks up global award for AI Legal Assistant Innovation of the Year

ARAG UK today announced that its Law Assist tool has been selected as “AI Legal Assistant Innovation of the Year” in the 6th annual LegalTech Breakthrough Awards conducted by LegalTech Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organisation that evaluates and recognises standout legal technology companies, products and services around the globe.

Law Assist is a digital assistant designed to help advisers check details using moderated generative AI. It answers questions in natural language from approved ARAG Law guidance and official sources such as gov.uk and legislation.gov.uk. Each response includes citations and clickable links so advisers can verify instantly. If the assistant doesn’t know or if the question is beyond its instructional remit, such as queries outside its jurisdiction, Law Assist notifies the user. Importantly, advisers are still able to apply their own professional judgment.

With no new tools or extra logins required, Law Assist offers seamless integration, operating within Microsoft Teams where advisers already work. The solution is secure by design, hosted within ARAG Law’s Microsoft 365 environment to ensure data privacy and compliance. Adding new knowledge to the AI is simplified by uploading any approved document. Law Assist learns immediately, expanding into new legal domains without redevelopment.

The solution will enable faster onboarding for new advisers, consistent, evidence-based advice across teams, and scalable knowledge management that grows with the business.
