As first seen on Legal Futures

Two solicitors from ARAG Law have been appointed to the Bristol Law Centre board of trustees, extending ARAG’s association with the law centre, which provides free legal advice and representation across a range of social welfare issues, to people throughout the South West of England.

Head of Employment, Allison Lewis and Head of Complex Litigation, William Ellerton have joined the charity’s team of trustees for an initial four-year term.

Allison has worked for the law firm since 2013 and was made a partner in 2016, before which she spent some time in private practice, specialising in employment law with Pollecoff Solicitors and Lyons Davidson. Will joined as a partner in 2017, after spells at DAC Beachcroft, Bevans and Eversheds, where he specialised in financial services disputes and litigation.

Commenting on the appointments, Karen Bowers, Chief Executive of Bristol Law Centre said:

I’m very pleased to extend our association with ARAG and welcome Allison and Will onto our board of trustees. I know that their expertise will be a huge benefit to the team and they have both shown great enthusiasm for the often challenging work that we do.

Adding to Karen’s comments, ARAG CEO, David Haynes said:

ARAG is always looking for ways to extend access to justice to those beyond the reach of our insurance products. Bristol Law Centre provides vital support to some of the most disadvantaged people in our community, who are unlikely to have any other recourse.

It’s great that Will and Allison have stepped up to fill these roles and further extend the relationship that ARAG has built with the law centre.

ARAG has worked with Bristol Law Centre across a range of fundraising and practical activities for more than two years.
