Women in Finance Charter
The Women in Finance Charter is owned by HM Treasury and commits firms to supporting the progression of women into senior roles in the financial services sector by focusing on the executive pipeline and the mid-tier level; each firm should set its own targets and implement the right strategy for their organisation.
It requires firms to publicly report on progress to deliver against these internal targets to support the transparency and accountability needed to drive change.
Our target is to reach 50% representation by the end of December 2027.
We have 40% female representation in senior management roles (as of end August 2025).
We aim to achieve gender balance through the following initiatives and activities:
-
Recruitment, retention and promotion
Focusing on recruitment techniques that drive greater diversity and development opportunities for women. -
Supporting women’s progression
Through leadership and mentoring programmes. -
Targets
Including gender balance related targets within Senior Manager’s personal objectives. -
Behaviour and Culture
Reinforcing expectations that all leaders are responsible for creating a culture of inclusion.
“When we signed up to the Charter in March 2021, we had 32% female representation in senior management and our target at this time was 50% by end of December 2025.
As of August 2025 we have 40% female representation in our senior management population and believe that we are on track to meet our target of 50% by end of December 2027.
Whilst we are still seeing some of the impact of the acquisition of DAS UK by ARAG SE and the subsequent merger of DAS UK and ARAG PLC, we are continuing to strengthen our management team and are dedicated to embedding our joint culture with a focus on inclusion through not only our words but our decisions and actions with the aim of reaching our target by December 2027.”
