From the 5th – 9th October we ran a Personal Growth Week for staff, a collaboration between our Learning & Development and Wellbeing teams.

Staff at ARAG have taken part in a full week of online activities, arranged to aide personal and professional growth, something that we at ARAG are really keen to encourage and support.

Professional training included sessions on PowerPoint and Microsoft 365, with lots of useful tips and shared knowledge for staff to take forward. Staff could also view a real life coaching conversation carried out between two of our colleagues.

We also ran a number of ‘wellbeing’ sessions to support our staff during these uncertain times. This included yoga, mindfulness, and webinars on self-care for good mental health, coping and resilience, and beating imposter syndrome. We also had our very own Joe Wicks aka The Body Coach, with Hayden Cotton, BTE Claims Team Leader running a grueling lunchtime workout each day for staff to join.

The most popular sessions turned out to be the “An audience with…”. Dave Haynes, Director of Underwriting, was first up on the virtual stage and talked about his career journey, sharing experiences & career tips of how he came to be a Director. Tony Buss, MD also took to the virtual stage and discussed his career journey and experiences which provided a hugely insightful and engaging session with staff asking questions and learning more about our Directors, both personally and professionally.

Overall, we had a fantastic week of activities with something for everyone and although we were unable to come together and run the sessions in person with our colleagues, it was a hugely enjoyable virtual event which we will certainly be running again soon!
