Which? has chosen ARAG to deliver a confidential mental wellbeing helpline, as well as free legal and tax advice service to members of its Which? Trusted Traders network.

The new arrangement has been designed to provide Which? Trusted Traders with support in some areas that can present difficulties for such businesses, namely legal worries, tax problems and mental health issues.

Which? Trusted Traders can simply call the legal helpline about a problem affecting the business to get advice under any aspect of UK or EU law, such as issues over a contract with a supplier or managing a troublesome employee. The same helpline can be used to access advice about the company’s UK tax affairs.

The separate and confidential wellbeing helpline is available to all employees in the Which? Trusted Traders business, who can call to discuss any issue that may be affecting them or a member of their family, such as a bereavement, addiction problems or any other personal issues.

Managing director of Which? Trusted Traders, Raj Kakar-Clayton commented,

We recognise that there can be many difficulties and pressures involved in running a small business. We want to support our traders with their legal, tax and wellness issues, so they can then focus more of their energy on providing the best possible service to their customers.

“Mental health awareness and assistance is a key part of the way that Which? helps its own staff to thrive. As skilled traders are at particular risk of experiencing these issues, we want to extend this policy to the traders that we endorse. The wellness helpline will give Which? Trusted Traders and their families a direct route to support their wellbeing.

ARAG Corporate Business Manager George Bladon added, “We’re obviously very pleased that Which? has chosen ARAG to provide this service to members of its network and we’re looking forward to supporting them.”
