It’s been a busy week ahead of ARAG DAY today, as it has for all the ARAG companies around the world.

We’ve been working with Bristol Law Centre throughout the year, not just on fundraising initiatives but trying to provide some practical support in pursuit of our common goal of extending access to justice.

Many of our staff took their turn on exercise bikes that we installed on the lawn in front of our Bristol HQ, as we collectively rode the 501 miles between Bristol and Düsseldorf, home to our parent company ARAG SE. ‘Alternative transport’ was available for non-cyclists, who could contribute miles to our sponsored challenge, and we even had a yoga session in the office.

On a more practical level, we visited the law centre this week, where solicitors from one of our local partner firms, Ashfords, were providing advice clinics to boost the capacity the law centre has to serve people in the community who need legal advice and support.

A big thank you to Hayey Marles, Simona Kalnina and John Ebenezer for giving up their time to talk to clients at the law centre and advise them on their employment and family law issues.

ARAG DAY is important in raising awareness about access to justice and we’re working hard to increase awareness of the vital work that Bristol Law Centre does. But such challenges won’t be overcome in a day, which is why we’re working on some longer-term projects to support the centre with fundraising and other support.

The law centre simply doesn’t have the resources to help everyone that knocks on its door, so we’re working with them to take forward a number of cases that might otherwise fall outside their capacity to help.

Our partnership with the law centre continues beyond ARAG DAY and we’re going to keep raising funds and raising awareness of all the work that they do in our community.
